My father, who was 9 in 1919 remembered his entire family - parents and 8 kids - all getting the flu but they all survived. He said it was nasty.

I had a cousin who was one of 11 kids—9 boys and 2 girls. Both of his sisters died in the flu epidemic. He survived until 1990 and I heard the story from him in person.
