Australia's most successful rock band AC/DC are thought to be retiring. Rumours surfaced on Tuesday morning that the band are set to split due to the ill health of one of their members, although it isn't clear as of yet who that member is or what the illness is. 3AW reporter Peter Ford told 2Day FM breakfast hosts Sophie Monk, Merrick Watts, Jules Lund and Mel B that 'we may never hear them perform or record again'.

They changed their name to the Rolling Gallstones.
I can remember buying my first AC/DC album, Powerage, and driving my parents crazy with that noise...
That's a great album.
The Beatles were a class act. They went out on top. But these old geezers who milk this gig well into their 60’s and 70’s like the rolling stones, putting out a crap record every two years as an excuse to go out on tour to milk their aging fan base. It’s kind of sad. Kind of like that karaoke album that Rod Stewart put out last decade.
Sad news
great song!!!
And I'm way over due...
Down Payment Blues!
And let’s not forget that Malcolm was the brainpower behind the writing and arrangement of their songs.
Truly a genius, along with Angus.
Funny, their older brother George, was with the Easybeats of “Friday On My Mind” fame.
That’s too bad. Everbody loves Ac/DC from 15 to 55. It amazes me their first stuff came out in ‘73. Still sounds fresh today. The teeny boppers absolutely love them, as did we.
This past Sunday I visited a friend in Alexandria, VA who broke her leg and on my way back home to Waldorf, MD I played the entire “Let There Be Rock” CD.... it’s as good to listen to or better than it was in ‘77....
Unfortunately, probably “too many women and too many pills”.
One of the top 5 rock albums of all time.
Well that just sucks.
Rock may be a business and a job, but I don’t know ANY normal people that volunteer to kill themselves or destroy God’s gift for money .... no one.
Oh no!
I saw them a few years ago, lots of fun, LOUD (I had earplugs jammed in there, and when that wasn’t enough, I shoved ‘em down using a second set of earplugs), just a blast.
They haven’t been together for 40 years for no good reason.
And they didn’t put out the #2 selling album worldwide, (tied with DSOTM) by accident.
That doesn’t seem possible, does it? Must be I saw them in concert more than a few years ago.
What a drag it is getting old.
