Mazeil succeeded in part on athletic ability and partly on smarts. I would have trouble drafting him high as an owner or GM because there’s no real certainty he’s going to be an immediate franchise player. That said, I suspect there’s a much better than 50% chance he will be a real success somewhere in the league as long as he works at it and is in the right situation.
I think he will do very well - Russell Wilson was drafted with the 12th pick in the third round (75th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. He’s not bad.
I think Johnny will succeed in the NFL if he doesn’t get maimed. That’s the big challenge for a mobile qb these days.
