The city of Westminster (Colorado) bought the Westminster mall and then raised it, They had a grand plan to build a low income community center, a light rail hub, and an outdoor mall.
It is still a grass field after the developer abandoned the city two years ago.
There were still businesses and attached major department stores.
The city paid 4 million plus dollars for an open field. Of course, the cost to develop it will be many times that. So I guess I shouldn’t complain. For now anyway.
How may cities that size can really afford to throw away 4 million bucks?
