Don’t look at me, I posted the dictionary.com definition. Take it up with them.

I tend to go with the Biblical definition for Biblical words, rather than secular approximations.

How is “iniquity” a Biblical word?

The origin given is Latin. You’re not a Papist, are you?

well ok. But this is a thread devoted to secular words for the day. i believe the religion forum has a word for the day there, as well. Sometimes there will be words that have biblical as well as non-biblical meanings, just as there are often words which have medical/non-medical or legal/non-legal meanings.

Still storming here, and the wind from the north has knocked the temperature down to 54, so I don’t really see it getting to the predicted 70 today...

Our power got knocked out from it yesterday while everyone was getting ready for church. We’re supposed to get more storms tonight. I will have to check radar and sedate big dog in time for them.

We should be just about done for the day with storms-maybe no more till the weekend-

A customer’s dog started howling loudly the minute the thunder started, Husky girl ran to the door howling in sympathy, all three cats hid under the sofa-and I went outside in the rain to see what the commotion was. The customer had stepped away from his truck, and what looks like an American bulldog was sitting in the cab carrying on because it could not see its owner.

I would probably run screaming mad if I had a dog that totally freaked over storms...

Oh, a howler would be preferable to a barker who runs around and jumps in circles. I think the rain is going north of us, according to radar, but you know how it can lie.

I thought we were done with rain for today-but on the radar it looks like it is reversing course-and it is getting dark outside again...

It is a transliteration from the Greek word anomia.

Thank you for yor prayers and thoughts. She likes the windows open, and the doors to her apartment. It’s odd because she lived for years behind closed curtains and locked windows. Now that she is in assisted living (and somebody else is paying for the AC) she wants everything open. The nice thing is that her apartment is upstairs and has a little balcony (on which she has never set foot, despite the chairs I bought for her and a friend to sit out there.)

In any case, several doves are engaged in building nests in the rafters above her balcony, so there is a lot of activity out there. I think she’s watching and listening and seems to enjoy it. At least she seems aware of it, even though I don’t ever see her look that direction.

OMG I’m too lazy for this kind of work! lol I hauled good soil, planted the stuff I bought then started the process of putting down weed blocking fabric....although I doubt it really works. Will finish tomorrow or wednesday and put down the mulch. Then I will begin cussing the lawn...

I just saw an article in local news saying police broke up a party this past Saturday with lots of underage drinking and the parents were home. I hope they do some time.

They hate her choice of food so much you’d think it’s iniquity (it is):

As I was reading this, DH got a call - a couple in a bar fighting...scratch marks on his face...shoves and bruises, too. Should be interesting...certainly not a boring call when you have a couple of drunks going at it. Cops should already have them separated.
