Just want to be fair here. Not such a great video. Hard to tell what happened there - did the cop even see her? The cop was originally out of view and she was blocked out of view - did he have reason to believe there was a problem? A riot is an emotionally charged situation and cops are on the razor edge of nervousness. It wasn’t like he continued to do something wrong - it was sort of a one shot deal - possibly a legitimate mistake. Article doesn’t clarify much.

The good ill mannered types know when to stop their aggression so the can make some specious claim for the imprimatur of their action.

He broke the line and engage someone, at a bit of a gallup and clocked her upside the head, with no regard for his actions or consequences of her landing...

Looked like the cops had that middle part blocked off and she tried to cross. She got shoved back.

I didn't see a riot...

To be honest, I don't think most the cops there have ever seen a real riot.

But they keep acting like this and they'll eventually get to see one.
