The idea of over-population is an old one, goes back to a fellow named Malthus who wrote in the late 17 hundreds, it’s been picked up by a number of authors over the centuries, it suits the control-freaks, each one of whom would choose others to be annihilated, and they themselves would live. (With huge yatchts, homes that suck up more power than a whole town, and their very own Airforce One to get around the world in.)
In the old USSR that type had their own department stores, their own dachas, special schools, access to the best food of course, while millions starved and died in the Gulag system.
