I think we're deep into the police state now and the intimidation and harassment from its various government agencies can be very persuasive. Must be obvious from a distance and from the perspective of the history that we didn't learn and weren't interested in.

Sad to see it/live it, especially on our watch. Sure was a good run, though, especially my parents' and grandparents' time at the wheel saving the world. Too bad we weren't raised with the same stuff they were and never saw a reason to find it along the way.

Wishful thinking makes me say to myself that perhaps it's still not too late? But then I remember how the story we were born into ends...
