During WWII, B-17s practiced bombing runs at Avon Park Bombing Range, and flew out nearby Sebring, FL.
One aging bombardier tells of a night run, they were to look for three lights that formed a triangle where they should drop their next bomb. The bomb fell harmlessly, as it was filled with sand, but they'd scored a perfect shot on Avon Park's Post Office!
