A federal judge last week upheld the right of states to require proof of citizenship before allowing someone to register to vote. Voters continue to overwhelmingly support such a requirement.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 78% of Likely U.S. Voters believe everyone should be required to prove his or her citizenship before being allowed to register to vote. Thats up from 71% a year ago. Just 19% oppose that requirement. (
Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz has made this an issue. Obama has refused him access to the federal E-Verify database to verify citizenship.
Wow. A WHOLE 78%. One wonders if the other 22% are illegals or just plain stupid.
Ruth Johnson has been trying to clean up the voter rolls in Michigan too but the social security administration won’t help get rid of non living voters and the feds won’t help get rid of illegal voters.
The media shills for the Demagogic Party; meanwhile, it’s smart to keep the powder dry for the campaign season, you know how long it always seems before it’s done.
Indeed. Thanks for the ping!
Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. Did they poll the likely voters in the boneyards? They all speak with heavy accents, and so do their “aids” who push the levers for them. Their vote matters, too, and all the dead people are adamantly opposed to being disenfranchised by these racist tea baggers with their 79%. Zombo-Americans have the right to get up and vote, too.
I’m sick of democrats trying to steal my vote by diluting it with people who don’t have the right to vote.
It’s the same thing democrats did in the Jim Crow South - but back they they were stealing the votes of black people. Same crime - different choice of victim.
Vote the little sh*ts out - it’s our only chance....
What the Rasmussen poll results are telling us is that even a large segment of Democrats want citizenship checks on new voter registrants, which would probably imply that they are opposed to non-citizens voting.
So Republican candidates who come out of the shadows and support proof of citizenship for new voter registrants have a popular issue that cuts across party lines and can only help them politically.
Yep, this is an issue the Republicans should be all over but they have been silent, hopefully that changes.
Just plain common sense that everyone should have a proof of citizenship voters card to vote.
Thanks for pings Justice and LucyT
