Why do you think more and more warrants are being served by swat teams? I'm sure you watched Boston go into paralysis over a teenaged "terrorist" on the run. These guys are trained to look after their own and to stay safe.

The police dept is increasingly populated with bullies who are also cowards.

Police departments do not want the general public to know how much of the department would run away if faced with opponents just as numerous and as well armed as themselves.

Look at what happened with the police during Katrina and the Rodney King riots.
