I always thought that she was a beautiful and talented woman. I enjoyed both her movies and singing.
Her 1954 song, “Secret Love,” spoke to my dreams when I was in the 8th grade and in love with a very pretty girl. She didn’t know it, though, and I never had the nerve to do anything but admire her and occasionally speak with her at recess.
When I was in eighth grade I was in love with Maureen O’Hara. And before that with Margaret O’Brien.
Yet, I cheated on neither one.
