I love it and I watch it every year. I don't know how old you are but most people outgrow that kind of idol worship in their teens.

Ok, “Slavery Is Bad”, I get it.....Why does Hollywood need to keep shoving it in our faces.

Holocaust or slavery and “racism” = guaranteed Academy Awards, regardless of quality.

Nope. I enjoy hearing the speeches. Why? What can those hacks say that isn't either offensive, self-aggrandizing, or just smarmy cliches? These are not people worthy of our admiration, much less hours out of our lives.
If that's what you consider enjoyment, we have vastly different tastes, my friend.

Holocaust or slavery and racism = guaranteed Academy Awards, regardless of quality. Don't forget the gays, especially if they have AIDS.

Now we have pot smoking gays with AIDS up for an award. There's a Lefty conundrum for you.....Slaves, or Gays with AIDS? That's a tough one.

Last year they had Tarantino’s slavery film pastiche of spaghetti westernisms and blaxploitationisms up for awards.

I forgot Jared Leto. He’s playing a transvestite with AIDS - that’s a lock!

Yeah, but that’s Tarantino, he gets a pass.

Did you hear Jennifer Lawrence last year. She was a hoot. No politics at all.

Personally, I think Tarantino played a huge joke on everyone with Django..., but no one in Hollywood got it. They took it seriously.

I kinda agree. The Jewish producers have only given us a few movies about the Holocaust.

Not much discussion on the documentaries this year:
The Act of Killing
Cutie and the Boxer
Dirty Wars
The Square
20 Feet from Stardom

I finally got around to watching it. The violence was comedic splatter (witness when Laura got shot at the end and goes flying backwards out of frame).
As over the top as Hitler’s decapitated head in Tarantino’s “war” film.

They were fantasies...I mean who didn’t wish there was a real “Bear Jew” whacking Nazis with a baseball bat?

Did you hear Jennifer Lawrence last year No, I didn't. I like Jennifer Lawrence in the "Hunger Games" movies, but I really couldn't care less what she has to say about anything. Why would I?

No I don’t. I’m curious what you regard as an Art film.
