Daylight Saving Time is awful! We all missed at LEAST an hour of sleep and now we are all discombobulated.

Indeed! I couldn’t believe how long I slept, though.
I am terrible at keeping a normal sleep time but I sure can sleep well when I do!
It’s a beautiful day here. This early morning the birds were singing like it is spring....wonderful music to my ears.

Neither Hawaii nor Arizone “observe” Daylight Saving Time.

And they get along just fine, thank You.

Make It Personal

March 10, 2014

Read: 2 Chronicles 24:1-2,15-22

Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. —Galatians 5:16
Bible in a Year:
Deuteronomy 11-13; Mark 12:1-27

During my days as a teacher and coach at a Christian high school, I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with teenagers, trying to guide them to a purposeful, Christlike life—characterized by love for God and love for others. My goal was to prepare them to live for God throughout life. That would happen only as they made their faith a vital part of life through the help of the Holy Spirit. Those who didn’t follow Christ floundered after they left the influence of Christian teachers and parents.

This is demonstrated in the story of King Joash of Judah and his uncle Jehoiada. Jehoiada, a wise counselor, influenced Joash to live a God-honoring life (2 Chron. 24:11,14).

The problem was that Joash did not embrace an honorable life as his own. After Jehoiada died, King Joash “left the house of the LORD” (v.18) and began to worship in a pagan way. He turned and became so evil that he had Jehoiada’s son murdered (vv.20–22).

Having someone in our lives to guide us toward faith and Christlikeness can be good and helpful. Even better is getting to know the Lord ourselves and learning to rely on the Holy Spirit to be our guide (Gal. 5:16). That is making our faith personal.

Lord, thank You for the people in my life who
influence me toward following You. Help
me not to depend on them primarily—but to
depend on Your Holy Spirit to guide me.
The faith of others encourages; a faith of our own transforms.

"“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves” (Matt. 7:15)" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A sheep is no challenge to a wolf. Easily caught. Jesus is our Shepherd. We are the 'simple' easily deceived. Without the LORD we can do nothing.

Locally we had a person steal an 'end loader' and he drove it to the ATM of the Bank during the night and pulled the ATM up from the concrete and carried it off. Two days later it the ATM was found in a field unopened, the monies still inside. So far no arrests. $28,000.00 was inside it. WOW! this person has federal and state police searching for him... for nothing essentially. Beware of the WOLVES! Stay away from the areas they frequent!!! Be discerning.

My Mother’s Garden

My mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
she planted all the good things
that gave my life its start.

She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem ...

And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough,
but not too much because she knew
I’d need to stand up strong and tough.

Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong ...
markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.

I am my Mother’s garden.
I am her legacy...
and I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me.

Happy Monday, TCP.

I’m so happy that you can finally enjoy some sunshine. We have been having wonderful weather. We had one day of fog last week but the afternoons have been in the 70’s.

I’m wanting more spring flowers to plant. May go to Home Depot later today.

Have an beautiful warm Monday.

Good morning, Trish. Thank you.

Aquamarine made the graphics about 5 years ago. I’ve been doing a lot of re-runs. I have a computer full of wonderful openings. It is a shame not to share them again.

Wishing you a Warm, Fuzzy Monday. LOL
