Are those Knorr packs he mentions in the article easy to prepare? I would also think it might easier to add a couple of bottles of water. While it wouldn’t last 10 days, at least you wouldn’t need to worry about finding a water supply immediately. Even melting snow would still be a little rough mentally, at least for me.

"Are those Knorr packs he mentions in the article easy to prepare?".....I believe he is refering to the 'Add boiling water and wait 5 minutes' products that Knorr makes. I have not found thoes exact Knorr items in my grocery. Does that help ?

Those Knorr packs are $1.00 at Walmart and are in mylar envelopes. You might want to invest in a water filter. I bought one at the LDS store for $16.00. It looks like a water bottle and filters 100 gallons.
