Murdering the name of Jesus
me, myseld, and I | 02/26/14 | fabian

I have been quite appalled at how so very lost the supposed leaders of most of the churches of today are. They purport to represent Jesus' teachings, yet their is outright denial of the very powerful message that satan's grip on us to cause us to sin, is indeed broken. No, rather the ministers of today all over teach a watered down and lying ministry that Jesus merely has saved us from the aweful results of going to hell. Yet, in one simple sentence and act with Mary, when he told her to go and sin no more, he proved his Fathers power over all of us who are slaves of sin. He did not tell her, go and try to not sin, or go and stop practicing sin, as some lame ministers add to the text. He gave her a strong command as an example that we can all follow. The problem is that we once again, as in Jesus' day, have a bunch of blind leaders of the blind, screwing things up for many searching souls. Mr. Johnson of my local mega church, Bethel, is a good example, with his dull and boring speeches that really are just learned biblical intellectualism. Another example is the smaller talk radio show host, "rev." Jesse Lee Peterson, who, actually does teach the real power of Jesus, but also tells people that he has that sin free power. Yet any aware person listening to his oft repeated words and phrases with his markedly monotone and slow delivery, can hear another false spirit masquerading as salvation. Where would we be as a nation if these weak and phoney ministers really had the keys to the kingdom, as the famous and long time talk show host Roy Masters has...a real and authentic path to God, without all of the mental gibberish taught by the churches and even eastern types of meditation. America has a spiritual George Washington who is helping multitudes, truly leading the blind to the light of real freedom and happiness.

The woman caught in adultery in the book of John was nameless. It wasn’t Mary.

all we need is the simple spirit of God, that Jesus sends. The church teaches about that, but does NOT lead people to it, for the most part. Roy shows people the inner way, simple. Not a doctrine at all. Simple silent prayer. The spirit does all the work.

I used to listen to Roy in the late 70's and it wasn't long before I heard him say, "people say Jesus this, Jesus that," and it gave me the impression to get the hell away from him. Even without much knowledge of the bible at the time, I knew this was evil stuff.

I haven't listened to him for so long, did he ever get around to teaching God's Word yet? Or is he still a mystic?

Yes..he teaches the art of non judgment and forgiveness. You know...that command from our savior of what we must do in order to be forgiven? He leaves it to the intellectual and lost churches to teach history, which doesn’t really change people from within.

>> “The truth is, sin is not a problem for those who abide in Christ.” <<

.
In whom do you suppose the apostle Paul abided?

Romans 7:

[14] For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
[15] For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
[16] If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
[17] Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
[18] For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
[19] For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
[20] Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
[21] I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
[22] For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
[23] But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
[24] O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
[25] I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

What would Paul know of sin? Just another one of these weak church leaders that be holding down the brethren. Had he listened to Roy, he would've wrote the whole Bible.

FR is just crawling with people pushing false teachers and false prophets these days.

Roy Masters is just another in a long line of charlatans and shysters leading people down the broad path to destruction.

http://www.meetchristians.com/new/tr_fr_view_thread.php?TID=1278289&r=&F=4

Foundation of Human Understanding
Roy Masters, founder and director, was born Reuben Obermeister to a Jewish family in London, England. At age 15 he worked at his uncle’s diamond-cutting factory in Brighton after his father died.

As a young boy he became interested in hypnotism. He added to his hypnotism techniques after studying African witchdoctor rites during his apprenticeship at South African diamond mines when he was 18.

He came to America in 1949, at age 21, to lecture on diamonds. He legally changed his name to Roy Masters in 1954 (yet never acquired American citizenship) and eventually became a professional hypnotist claiming he could “save people by teaching them self-sufficiency meditative hypnosis.”

The American Medical Association pressed charges against him for practicing medicine without a license. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail. He likens this “persecution” to the persecution Jesus suffered.

He is a self-described “Christian mystic” combining Eastern mysticism and Gnosticism with Christian jargon, yoga, hypnotism and self-help principles.

As with other Eastern-oriented cults, The Foundation of Human Understanding teaches that God is both personal and impersonal, advocating an almost pantheistic God.

In lieu of dependence on Jesus Christ for salvation, Masters teaches dependence on his meditation techniques. He teaches that mankind is inherently good, thus there is no need for salvation or a savior.

All problems man encounters can be resolved through self effort.

“No form of outer assistance can substitute for inner direction. Direction must come always from within. Moved by the spirit of intuition, we move without excitement, effort or strain. The more we exercise our dependency upon the Within, the stronger this relationship becomes, and we know it to be Grace,” (How To Keep Your Mind Well, p. 165, Foundation Press, 1971).

Though he claims to have been saved by the blood of Christ, he states that “one of the biggest curses in Christendom is the false idea that Jesus is God.”

According to the late Dr. Walter Martin, the Foundation does not mention the Holy Spirit in any of its publications (The New Cults, p. 310).

Instead of relying on the Holy Spirit for comfort and guidance, followers are taught to rely on themselves (made possible through successful meditation).

During the meditative process, subjects are taught to surrender all disbelief and to relinquish control to Masters.

The Foundation of Human Understanding headquarters is in Los Angeles, California where Masters’ self-help brand of religion is offered to an audience of 3 million people via his national radio program, “How Your Mind Can Keep You Well.”

In 1982, about 2,000 disciples followed Masters to a 378-acre ranch in Oregon. He holds seminars and weekend retreats at the ranch and is currently establishing Evelyn Street School, a Foundation institute for kindergarten through 12th grade there.

In 1989, Masters claimed to have 150,000 people on his mailing list. Over 100,00 have purportedly participated in his courses. His meditation exercise is taught on three cassettes and a book for a total cost of $25.00.

Participants in his week-long seminars pay $1,200 and $50 for one-day seminars held across the country. Masters says he wants to be remembered in the same category as Moses, Jesus, the apostles, Buddha, Gandhi, Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy.

You have to attack from way back...and from poor sources...rather than simply seeing from his fhu.com site that he is simply showing people the calm pathway within to faith...something that the killers of the real and powerful name of Jesus know nothing about. As I wrote, the blind leaders of the blind. Same as was in his day.

Salvation is not through hypnosis and mind altering meditation techniques.

Masters is a false teacher and false prophet.

He’s spreading lies about God, Jesus, and how to get to heaven.

Buyer beware. Listen to this guy at your own risk, the risk of your eternal soul.

Actually, you are the one that is proving my point about killers of the name of Jesus. Roy does not teach hypnosis, and many who know and love him know that is a fact. You need to slander a real Christian who is helping so save American, because as my post points out,you types deny the very real fact that JESUS gave us the power, through our Father, to be totally free of sin. And not one of you all have refuted my valid point about the prostitute and Jesus telling her to go and sin no more. You lost souls are just as lost as the world is.

Scripture addresses his heresy quite clearly....

1 John 1:8-10 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

this is the very hypocrisy that my post title is talking about...you are twisting scriptures in order to water Dow Jesus’ message! He told the prostitute..”go and sin no more” ! That doesn’t mean that she nor any of us have not had sin in our lives, which is what that passage hou shared is referring to. Stop milling the name of Jesus! Because that is exactly what your type do by denying his very real completion of victory over the very power of being free of sinning. It is a horrible sin to alter the very strength of what he accomplished for us merely because the church a d your type have failed to see and know it. Roy has not...and you guys vilify him. Shame on you all...bunch of phone Christians.

Right on brother. All those so called Catholics who think there should be women priests and that Abortion is ok and so is being gay and then complain the Churches teachings are out of date should just leave the church.
Pelosi and all of the Kennedys should form their own church. They have enough cash.
