Like so many individuals in these media storms, I have no ill will for the guy and wish him success. What makes me cringe is the accompanying agenda. This guy seems like a good person. He’s clearly an accomplished athlete, and from my view, he made the announcement with good intentions. He knew it would likely become public during this process because he had shared it with his entire college team. He got in front of the story, and I do not fault him for that.
The ESPN hyperfocus and tweets/interviews of all the of the left wing annoys me, and the media storm around the draft and during camp is going to be obnoxious. Aside from that, I don’t see him as a glory hound like the NBA guy who announced on his way out of the league purely for self-advancement.
Ditto.. it annoys me, too. The general reaction has been, "He's gay? Oh." But that doesn't suffice for the social engineers of the left. They demand EVERYONE celebrate this as some kind of blessed event. And when we don't, then out come the charges of "homophobe," "bigot," etc.
