My favorite scene where Deanna shoulda been fired:
The Borg capture Capt. Picard, he’s beemed aboard the enterprise and Dr. Crusher, Deanna, and Data are examining him. He says, “Sleep, Data”. It’s Deanna’s JOB to read his emotions. Does she? Nope. In that scene, it was Dr. CRUSHER who says, “he’s exhausted”. But it was DATA who figured out that he wasn’t saying he needed sleep, but that the sleep function was the best back door to the Borg systems. Deanna should have read his emotions better than a robot who doesn’t even have an emotion chip, wouldncha say?
She’s fired. Yet again.

I tuned out early, but I cannot stand Will Robinson types in shows that want to be taken seriously. The Starship has hundreds of top level trained engineers, and the doctor's 13 year old kid knows more than all of them. The best opportuniy to off him was when he didn't keep off the grass on that pleasure planet. "Sorry, Wes, but Prime Directive and all that rot. Can't risk interstellar peace or our relativistic principles."
With Troi, it would be one of the many, many scenes with dialogue like the following:
Ferengi: Y-Y-Y-yes ... Captain Picard (heh-hehh), I think I have a proposition that can benefit both of ussssss ...(heheheh)
Troi: I sense deception, captain.
Wow, Sherlock Holmes and Sigmund Freud all rolled into one!
