The plane’s door is angled open and is casting a shadow across the top of the plane.

The first window is not the door. The door is to the right of the window.

Here is a better view in which the shadow from the door with it's window is evident as is the shadow of the tail section falling on the wing.

The reason there are no people in life jackets is because they have already floated away from the plane
