I’m watching a funeral service in Kiev.
Lightly armed protesters with rocks, molotavs, a few guns, some pellet rifles and sling shots were bunched up behind the barricades a night ago.
Today they occupy the full square and beyond. No police in sight. President Yershenko (sp?) has reportedly fled the country. Former PM Yulia Tomesko(sp?) has reportedly been freed from jail.
Don’t know how it will all ultimately work out over there, but it shows that a massive upwelling of resistance and coordination is a powerful thing. On the other hand, if the police just go after “nutjobs with an arsenal” a few at a time to keep people in line, that might work. And we will make comments like “2 pistols, three shotguns and a 30-30? That’s what I have in my pickup truck!”.
I am sure when word gets out that they are going house to house there will be that uprising. I just pray that our police, etc, will go tell this president to F()CK himself and the mochelle he rode in on.
I have been watching also. It gives me hope.
