“Anyone who waits for their weapons to be confiscated, has waited too long to successfully use them.”
The police will begin the raids and a goodly percentage of the firearms out there (not involved in the initial raids) will just vanish — poof!
If you aren't going to use them at that point, you might as well toss them in the river.
Hiding weapons so they are found by a police state is liking hiding an umbrella, so that it doesn't get wet.
And then the police stations will themselves be raided.
Not a good thing for the police to lose the public’s trust.
