It started as a professional networking site. My hubby uses it, at times he gets requests that are strange mostly from recruiters for job openings. Others who knows. Just ignore those that are of no interest and link to those who you know and trust. It’s not bad, but like everything there is room for abuse/spam etc.
I only get updates on others or job openings too. Pretty useless otherwise.
