BTW, my dad always said that 4-doors were for squares
I knew someone who restored a 57 Chevy 150, base model 4-door with the old Stovebolt 6 and a three-on-the-tree, originally bought, along with thousands of others by the US Army. There's still to this day plenty of them running around Southeast Asia. He did an absolutely meticulous restoration on it right down to every original military spec unique to these cars. Probably just as difficult a restoration as an ultra-rare fuel injected convertible.

My next-door neighbor growing up was a spinster, had a 57 BelAir, brown/copper with white. Pristine condition, something like 12,000 miles on it, always in the garage, etc. Once I was older I kept asking her about buying it, but she didn’t want to sell it. I kept asking her every time I was back from college.
Then one summer she said “Oh - I sold it. To a nice Christian man.” (I bet!) On the other hand, as a college kid, I probably wouldn’t have taken as good of care of it as I should have, and would still kick my self. (”Why did I let it sit outside all winter!?”)
She lived with her spinster sister who had an Impala from the sixties. In hind-sight I should have gone after that as well.

Hey, if you had gone after the two spinster sisters, you might have wound up with BOTH cars :)

That reminds me of Godfather part II.
When they show the barracks where they were keeping Frankie Pentangeli, there are a couple of the old green 4-door '57 Chevy Army cars seen.
