That new Chevy SS is a rebadged Australian-built Holden Monaro with a V8 probably made in Mexico (where the engine of the defunct Holden/Pontiac GTO was made, IIRC).

GM is shutting down all auto production in Australia in 2016, IIRC, so this Chevy SS is a stop-gap model until another halo hot-rod sedan can be introduced into the line-up that can be marketed via a NASCAR look-a-like.
