Dear Liberal Dip-Sticks,
We don’t “celebrate” holidays in the schools with days off to promote religious values. We do it because the holidays are of such widespread American cultural appeal that a majority of students won’t be available for class anyway.
Think about it... if we didn’t close for Christmas, would your child be at school if you are a Christian? In most cases, no. The school is closed to respect the wishes of the community which does not want to send their children to school during an important religious or cultural event.
Stop using our schools to promote other agendas. We (conservatives) generally only close the schools for practical, not agenda-driven, purposes.
You are correct. But only recently has this point been brought up. I guess because Christmas holiday is so ingrained in everyone’s minds over a century that no-one ever thinks of it as just being a convenience, rather than a birthright.
