You haven’t been to the YA section for a while. Fantasy is dead, dystopia future is in. It’s Hunger Games ripoffs now, we’re even getting the first movie of an HG ripoff (Divergent) next month.

In the town where I live, this is what’s on the YA shelves.

Dumbledore and Harry Potter are the same person?

That statement shows that you have neither read the books or watched the movies. Harry’s best female school chum marries his best male school chum and he marries his the younger sister of his best male school chum.

The main theme of the books is about the power of love to overcome evil. Parental love, fraternal love, familial love is what kills Voldemort.

LOL. I use the expression, "four corners of the earth," and i know the earth is flat. And interesting that you could only find something from Revelations, which is full of allusions and metaphors.

But I think that fact that you put Harry Potter on par with the Bible says a lot. I won't bother you anymore. I didn't realize I was making fun of your religion.

No, I didn’t read the books or see the movie. I read a few pages and then realized it was a d-grade hack job.

I actually overheard someone saying to someone else one, “You actually read all the Harry Potter books and you aren’t voting for Obama? Didn’t you understand anything?”

LOL, in other words, you can’t find a scintilla of evidence to back up your claim, and are now declaring victory and leaving the field.

I actually overheard two women discussing how wise Diane Feinestein is.

Dude, I don’t know if Hairy Potty is “gay propaganda”. I’ll have to take the word of its author, I guess. I know that it is bad writing. Very bad writing. A semi-educated person ought to be able to discern between good and bad writing.

I admit she’s no C.S. Lewis, but the reason it became a popular series is because she told the only story worth telling. Love. Destroys. Evil.

There is only one great story, told over and over again.

No, I gave you plenty of proof, you just ignored it because you are too indoctrinated.

Remember, your whole argument id that J.K. Rowling is lying about her own books because G-d is a liar. So, if you believe G-d is a liar, what am I supposed to say? I can argue facts, but I can't argue against your whole belief system.

LotR has no magic per se. Think of it more as a world where physics is a little different, and where “wizards” are angels incarnate.

I’d like to see a comparable tale which is firmly based on our modern technology, just named and veiled a bit different. For example, where muggles can communicate instantly with anyone interested by wiggling their thumbs at a mystical glass tablet - exactly what I’m doing to talk to you now.

Wow. Lord of the Rings was extremely well written and complex, not like Harry Potter's inane, badly written drivel.

From what I hear, the theme is do what the government tells you, and never think for yourself.

Millions of children have been indoctrinated into the occult. Parents, schools, and libraries have encouraged children to aspire to become witches.

WTF?? That is out there..

Very challenging point of view you got going there, for one who admits they haven’t read the books. It is not even close to what you claim, perhaps you should read them and then enlighten us to the themes in the books that suggest gay is great and do as the government tells you.

I get the sense you are arguing just for the sake of arguing.

I didn't see anywhere you cited anything from the books, any of the books, that could in any way be construed as recognizing the homosexuality even exists, yet you insist the only reasons they were written was to advocate homosexuality and witchcraft.

When you ask where does God say the world is flat (thereby introducing God to the conversation, unless you thought my inferring that YOU thought the world was flat meant that you are God?) you criticism me for giving you a Biblical reference, then based on my familiarity with the Bible determine that my religion is Harry Potter. Huh?

Your contention that my argument is that J.K. Rowling is lying about her own books because GOD is a liar is such a non-sequitur that I hardly know how disordered one's mind must be to make that connection.

Perhaps you can clarify that point?

Then you hear wrongly. Book five featured the failures and/or outright corruption of government apparatchiks and how those on the side of good resisted, both subversively and then openly. The comeuppance of Umbridge is the highlight.

The intact married Weasley family with six children (whom the main characters eventually marry into in the series epilogue)is the family every reader wishes to have themselves and is the model of traditional conservatism.
