You haven’t been to the YA section for a while. Fantasy is dead, dystopia future is in. It’s Hunger Games ripoffs now, we’re even getting the first movie of an HG ripoff (Divergent) next month.
In the town where I live, this is what’s on the YA shelves.

The main theme of the books is about the power of love to overcome evil. Parental love, fraternal love, familial love is what kills Voldemort.

LotR has no magic per se. Think of it more as a world where physics is a little different, and where “wizards” are angels incarnate.

Very challenging point of view you got going there, for one who admits they haven’t read the books. It is not even close to what you claim, perhaps you should read them and then enlighten us to the themes in the books that suggest gay is great and do as the government tells you.

When you ask where does God say the world is flat (thereby introducing God to the conversation, unless you thought my inferring that YOU thought the world was flat meant that you are God?) you criticism me for giving you a Biblical reference, then based on my familiarity with the Bible determine that my religion is Harry Potter.
