It’s been enough years since I’ve installed MAME, I cannot remember.
I’ll figure this out sooner or later.
MAME and the PS One emulator are in the Ubuntu repository but the GMAMEUI “front end of MAME” is not.
On the PS1 emulator, some games work fine (Marvel vs Capcom) some games are crap (NFL Game Day) and some have bad sound issues (Destruction Derby 2).
Although I plan to spend a few hours tonight downloading new games to replace the ones I don’t like. NFL Blitz, Transformers Beast Wars, Army Men- Air Attack among them. I want to try those out.
I want at least a good racing game, aerial combat game, football game and the like. At least 4-5 good games and I would be happy.
