I bet those are the most popular ones — a lot more people own “non-pure-breed” dogs, than any of the pure breed ones.

I think some people consider it a status symbol to own a pure breed dog — but I think they should show their status some other way and save an orphaned or abandoned pet instead.

The smartest and most in-tune dog I’ve ever had was a boxer mix, she passed in June of last year. Best dog ever, you could teach her anything— fetch the phone or most anything you wanted to take a minute to show her. Our GSD passed the year before our mix. In my opinion the GSD ise one of the most soulful dogs. I sure miss them.

I think that some people do the rescue thing as a status symbol in order to show how enlightened and good that they are.

I think anybody who has any dog that they love and properly care for has done a good thing.

Some maintain pure bred animals as a reservoir of genetic material beneficial/complimentary to the breed.....
