No exceptions. Minimum wage pay for waitresses is: a federal minimum of $2.13/hour.
When taxes and assumed tips are deducted, that leaves them with approximately $0.00/hour plus any tips they earn.
Perhaps it is time to raise the minimum wage for waitresses and waiters.
Regarding the $2.13 per hour for wait staff, how many actually work for that? When I last tended bar (about ten years ago) the waitresses started at the state minimum wage, which was around $5.25 at the time.
