“...5 convictions ...”

That is five more than anyone I would trust ...

Rossi is a 64 year old ‘inventor”.

And his track record is .... absolutely one of failure after failure.

Yet this conspiracy by WW is a-ok?

“You talk to me about Goering, and you quote WIKIPEDIA, whose prejudice against LENR approaches that of Science, Nature, and Scientific American.”

My conspiracy only requires a few people and you complain about it yet WW's conspiracy includes major science journals and that is cool with you.

Consistency is a virtue.

"Yep. I will definitely give my money to a dude that was in jail for four years for FINANCIAL fraud ..."

Don't you think that the due diligence on the technology itself might had have some slight impact on that decision?

The fact remains that IH/Cherokee "did" buy the technology, and has spent $11MM (thus far) on developing it.

"That is actually pretty impressive. So, why did you chuck all that away and begin praying at the alter of Rossi?"

I didn't. That is another false assumption on your part.

"Not curious at all, it all makes perfect sense, yes? You are bsing me, you don't find that curious at all, you would accept that excuse from a coworker and maybe we should ask Rossi himself why he made such a hash of a simple experiment? He only answers fawning letters so you are in a unique place in this regard, hop to it."

I repeat, I have no idea why he did it that way. I don't have the time to waste investigating it at this late date.

I'm in the process of ramping up a major design effort on the oceanographic systems, and have even less time (as little as that was) to waste.

"An oscilloscope is a tool, not a panacea. Was it set correctly? Correct time base, trigger set on the correct waveform. I've got a Tek 7904a and every 7000 series module that comes with it and guess what, it's a 500mhz scope but select the one time base and one vertical amp for the slower 7000 series that I have and you only see the low frequency waveform. A scope isn't a magic box, it has to be read. Again, this sounds like a cynical attempt to appear legit.

LOL. Guess what...I've used 'scopes, too. I even owned one 'til technology outstripped it. As usual, your assumption is that all the guys who witnessed that demonstration were not familiar with 'scopes. I would bet that any of the physicists there(there were several) knew how to use them.

"Lets look at this. I ask him, and he's not going to say, hey, you caught me, I am scamming, really lame and should be beneath you but I guess there's no limit to the depths of human depravity when your reality is slipping away.

And maybe he would give an answer that makes perfect sense. Another possibility is that he was targeting his equipment for the US market, and designed it to run on 110 and didn't want to buy a high-power stepdown transformer. Again you are ASSUMING that your "criminal fraud" meme is the only possible one.

"Too bad it doesn't make sense to anyone else except for his cheer leading squad.

LOL. Just because I see more possibile explanations makes me his "cheering squad".

You: No. It's pretty obvious you will go to any lengths to support Rossi.

Another false assumption.

"Allow me a little analysis. You've always been smarter than most people and you obviously have an education but you also have an arrogance about you that us unwashed masses cannot know what you and Rossi seem to know and understand. Pretty typical if not pedantic and pathetic. Rule#1, there's always someone bigger, smarter or badder.

LOL. I've known and worked with a lot of people smarter than I am. I'm a farm boy, raised with cow-shit between my toes, so I "am" (or was) one of the "unwashed masses".

Clue..... I know very well that I am not, let us say, a "top tier" intellect. My sister in law (the geophysicist) "is" one of those (and nuttier than a fruitcake). I fit at the level of "very bright but not genius". What I do have is LOTS (and lots) of experience, and a "knack" for looking at two pieces of technology and seeing ways they can fit together that other people haven't.

"That's laid out in the article, I just thought it was too funny how 900 watts becomes 360 watts. It's not who votes who counts but who counts the votes."

Didn't look at it. No time.

"Low and behold, a 2011 interview with Levy by Krivit about Rossi. He says that three years before 2011, he heard from Focardi about Rossi. He says he saw the ecat on December 2010. You were saying?

"Hearing about Rossi" from Focardi and "having seen the E-Cat" hardly translates into them being close friends. And certainly not close enough friends to falsify test data.

"Link please, can we get an amen on the number of tests conducted during May of 2013??? Seems rather nebulous to me, let's get the number of tests stipulated to so you don't have an out by way of the other test where everything went well.

Nope, not gonna happen. No time. It "was" one of the first two done in Bologna (before the high-flow overnight run). Best I can do right now.

"I actually do think that but not for the reason you think. Rossi isn't an idiot, just amoral so he listens to his critics and games the next test to quiet the critics of the last test. Scam is such a loaded word, how about fraud?

Sorry, not buying it.

"Bollocks, I so love that word. You, who did put in the time for a real PhD have no problem with what Rossi did, you know, I think you're lying to yourself.

Cheez. Look....there is a lot about what Rossi did that I don't understand, but there is enough that I "do" understand that I don't buy the "it's all a scam" idea that seems to be the only option possible for you. And no, I'm not lying to myself (or anyone else).

"I would but I was in a horrible accident and can no longer face looking at myself, thank you for bringing up that painful memory.

It appears that the injury also turned you into a monomaniac. Interesting how being exposed to the word "Rossi" turns you into a foaming-at-the-mouth nutter. Or perhaps one of the Three Stooges (".....slowly I turned, step-by-step, inch-by-inch.....")

Maybe so. But I would wager my last year’s wages against yours that you would have gotten 5 convictions for the same thing under the conditions of Italian justice at the time. And if you think that people being asked to hand over money to someone so untrustworthy are also so stupid as to not perform enhanced due diligence, you are a fool (and I want to play poker against you).

***Just like the Controlled-Hot-Fusion boys. Yet, they’ve sucked hundreds of $billions of taxpayer money down a useless rathole. So they are far more fraudulent than Rossi. In fact, Rossi could learn a thing or 2 from them when it comes to conducting a con. He says the corner-turn is 2 years away, they keep saying it’s 50 years away. Now that’s a beautiful con.

My conspiracy only requires a few people and you complain about it yet WW’s conspiracy includes major science journals and that is cool with you.
***Before I argue conspiracy theories, I need to know exactly which one yours is. For instance, have thousands of scientists conspired to produce a false replication of the P-F Anomalous Heat Effect more than 14,700 times? Have the 7 independent scientists who black-body-tested Rossi’s device been involved in a conspiracy to defraud? And the multiple others involved in Rossi’s demos? Do you contend that I signed up 15 years ago in order to shill for Rossi, as some have contended on these threads? Is Scientific Instruments, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Navy SPAWAR, NASA, SRI, and ELFORSK all involved in furtherance of this conspiracy? Those are just the beginning of the ever-widening conspiracy theory web, so we might as well start there.

If its legit $11 Million seems like a very small pricetag if it was an all cash deal... I would be Westinghouse would have paid figures with far more zeros on the end if its legit.

If their theories of controlling hot fusion were “proven”, we’d have Nukular cars by now. Your statement shows how ignorant you are. Their theories and experiments have all given us zero-zip-nada, to quote one skeptopath.

That sort of thing has been covered upthread.

First, it is doubtful that $11M covers the whole Rossi nut of technology.

2nd, big name publicly traded companies are too skiddish to put their investor money on the line for a technology that has the hint of ostracism associated with it.

3rd, there is no doubt that such a deal would involve going into production and giving royalties to Rossi for every unit sold. There’s no way it’s all cash. Even a Westinghouse-level enterprise wouldn’t structure a deal like that.

Its assets were seized, together with Rossi’s personal assets, and Rossi was arrested pending trial. Rossi spent four years in prison working on his legal defense in 56 trials, 5 of which ended in convictions related to tax fraud. Rossi wrote that he was acquitted in the other 51 trials.[12]
***You’re right. It’s tax fraud, not tax evasion. But no convictions of fraud for anything else. Rossi is a convicted tax fraud, not a convicted con man. At least per the Wikipedia entry.
