There are presently at least a couple of monuments at Olustee for the Confederates. I’ve seen them. Looks like they’ve been there quite a while.
From what I can tell, a different group has applied for permission to erect a similar monument to the Union soldiers who fought and died there. Which is being resisted by, IMO, idiot Floridians, some of them apparently politicians.
Sherm I’ve been to Olustee battlefield several times and I can tell you there is a beautiful spot under a large Oak tree where most Floridians would be happy to construct a statue of General Grant, his wife and a few of her slaves. Would not want to leave anybody out. :-)
