There have been a lot of conflicting reports on OTC Fish oil, including increased levels of Prostate cancer amongst men whom take it.. It appears that EPA is highly desirable while DHA not so much.

EPA is showing to be a bit of a miracle cure. There have been recent articles about the profound improvement of patients with severe head trauma whom where given the Fish oil derivative EPA(eicosapentaenoic acid) Pure EPA without DHA was approved by the FDA for high triglyceride (over 500 mg.) and marketed by Amarin Corp. in a medicine called Vescepa. Unfortunately it is a medicine that you will probably never hear of as the FDA has been playing Big Pharma back pocket games by blowing up an SPA >Special Protocal Agreements with Amarin for a wider indication use of their drug.
