Fox just built him a new TV studio on Long Island and his new radio flagship WOR-AM (Clear Channel) built him a new radio studio as well. But that doesn’t mean he has to stay in NYC; if he moves to Naples (near his good friend Neal Boortz), he could build a studio in that location, or drive to the FNC bureau in Miami for his show. I’ve also heard he has a home studio for radio on Long Island so he could duplicate that arrangement in FL as well.

As for Texas, Glenn Beck has acquired a 72,000 square foot radio and TV complex in the DFW area that produces most of the content for TheBlaze TV. I’m sure that Shawn could lease studio space in that complex for radio and TV broadcasts.

Don’t blame him for leaving New York. The state has a rather quaint provision in its tax law; if you’re a high-income earner, such as an entertainer or athlete, the state of New York still collects its share from your pay that was earned while working there, even if you’re in town for only a couple of days, or in the case of an athlete, for a single game.

That’s one reason Rush was audited by New York state for years after he left; with a gross income of $1 million a week, New York was looking for any reason to get into Rush’s pocket, and they were always looking for a business meeting or any other event that brought him to New York and provide a reason for taxation.

Last I heard, Rush was looking for a new hurricane evacuation location, so he wouldn’t have to relocated to NYC when storms threaten south Florida.

If Sean is smart, he will sever all ties to New York and reestablish his base in FL or Texas. At his income level, he save millions over the next 10 years by relocating.

Is Sean doing his Fox TV show from this new studio ?

Are his guests traveling to his L.I. studio for a 10pm show ?

I don't think this is a "tax" issue driving his decision to move. It is a benefit, but he could have moved long ago.

I think Fox wants to compete head to head, if only by demographics, against Jon Stewart. They could do this with Greg Gutfeld.

Just a thought.
