That would have been a good time to do a random drug test.

This guy had just made the biggest play in the biggest game of the year, and they shove a mic in his face. I can understand his reaction. He didn’t swear or anything. He did go to Stanford and is earning his Masters. Cut him some slack.

It’s sad to watch,, one more sport in the gutter.. and they deflated the HumpDome last week too..

Bring back the old days,, ben davidson, ted hendricks, butkus, nietszhke, tatum.. Refs and officials that could see and knew the rules.

I don’t need shrill sidedine reporters and players that are playing a mind game and losing it for all to see.

I don’t care if the guy is All-NFL Pro for the next 10 years, and Yes, he was a sharp fella academically, unfortunately the game lost face fwiw these days, and we won’t go into the officiating.. wow. just wow. The kickers were pretty good at least considering it was a calm day. That’s what really hurt Kaep, he was playing his windage wrong. or sumthin. lol

not to worry,, Nascar is almost ready to roll another gutter ball so don’t sell the ranch yet

As a 49er fan, I was a little disappointed, but not surprised at the loss, and Sherman’s rant came off as asinine, funny, from Erin Andrews’ response, and part of pro football. It’s the next morning. Who cares now what he said? There are some class acts on the Seahawks team, like Russel Wilson. Erin should concentrate on them for future interviews.

I can’t wait to see his rants if the Seahawks get the same treatment they got from the refs in Super ‘Bowel’ XL : The Jerome Bettis Memorial Game Show.

The problem with society: too many people (even here) give the guy a pass for acting like a jerk ("It's just a game!!") because he made a big play to help win the game.

Sorry, nothing excuses thugishness. So he graduated from Stanford. We're all aware of idiots with PHD's. What does that have to do with civility and attitude?

I read his comments from today. Looks like he's blaming the comments against him on racism. How Obama of him!

Sherman is the result of the ALL Black Democrat Church...just how I see it.

Not speaking of the millions of wonderful Black Christians that have left the plantation

Somehow I don’t think you’d find defenders of thuggish behaviour here or anywhere had the Seahawks lost the game. Yeah, Richie Incognito is a nice intelligent guy too!

Give us back the name ‘football’! Since this “sport” isn’t played with foots but with thugs, let us call it Thugball!

If 0 bummer had a son, he’d look and act just like the thug Richard Sherman.

Oh wait, bummer said he wouldn’t let his son play football. Never mind.

It’s funny reading folks pining for the good old days of pro football. You’re looking at the past with rose colored glasses. Guys like Butkus, Dobler, and Lambert weren’t out there sweet talking the opposition. Pro football has always been a sort of gladiatorial sport. The only difference between then and now is that back then there wasn’t a camera in every player’s face all the time. I can only imagine the stuff that would have come out of Art Donovan’s mouth being interviewed by a sports babe on the sidelines.

It’s grown men playing a kid’s game for God’s sake. I can’t believe the sheer number of people getting wound up about sports theater. This is the NFL, not cricket. I’m sure the Broncos are loaded with Emily Post graduates. If only people would get this angry about the ‘polite’ and ‘civil’ damage being done to our country by elected officials vs a player who has no impact on their personal lives maybe we could start to turn things around.

As for my fan’s eye view, the Broncos are a mercenary team with a dandy pretty boy as executive VP. I never cared for the way he treated Tebow after he buoyed his mediocre team. I’ll be rooting for the relatively low paid, by NFL standards, Cinderella team whose core was pieced together from third round and higher draft picks two to three years ago. If they lose and some Bronco player talks doo-doo about a Seahawk player you won’t find me whining and crying about it. Those that were made instant Bronco fans by the interview last night should follow a more tame game like croquet or just get a life in general. Go Hawks!

Obviously most of the people posting here have never been in a huddle. I was always a big fat white guy on teams with a majority of African Americans from pee wees through college. That doesn’t even qualify as a rant. I wouldn’t have batted an eye if he dropped several N bombs. Some of the trash talking I have heard through the years has been amazing- my favorite had to do with the LB that lined up behind me and what he was going to do to the QB. It involved the ear hole in the Qb’s helmet. Both of them actually.. The QB looked at me and we both just shrugged and smiled. Damn funny.

There is more trash-talking on FR than what goes on in football games.
