the USA prospered , grew (faster than any country ever in history ) for almost 150 years with practically no government.

so how did living standards, health standards, wealth , prosperity , civilization prosper to such as extent as never before without your government.

you need to learn history. most of the government that is in place now was created in the last 50 years.

what you people enabled is that this year in 2014 now there were 40,000 NEW laws passed. how did we survive without THOSE. EPA shutting down coal plants cause of the global warming hoax. NASA doing global warming propagandizing( I thought there mission was to go get rocks on mars or something).gov schools are a joke. public housing ,EBT a million other failed government programs,OFFCCp , EEOC , racial quotas for hiring , a million injustices of government etc.

there is no global warming, there is no 1970’s ice age scare, there is no BP oil catastrophe( i live close to the Gulf), no uninsured health crisis, and a million other fake hobglobins created by the media to justify the existence and growth of government

what is a real problem that you must enable 40,000 new laws to solve name it? you people created the environment so that these jackals can write 40,000 new laws in 2014. how long do you think this country can take that growth in gov?

We had high import tariffs until the 1960's so that countries like China couldn't run our companies out of business. We lowered them and that's why we have high unemployment and the stores are full of Chinese goods.

The world has gotten a lot more complicated. I'm not saying all the laws are necessary, but certainly the rise in technology has accounted for many of the laws.

• For example, you didn't need a law regarding nuclear plants, waste, materials, etc for our first 150 years. Now you do.
• You didn't have cars for the first 130 years, so you didn't need any laws related to them.
• You didn't have a federal highway system so you didn't need laws for it.
• We didn't know PCB's caused health problems until the 1930s so nobody regulated it before then.
• We didn't have radio for the first 130 years, so you didn't need any airway regulations.
• The first air traffic controller started in 1929, 153 years after the birth of our nation. Again you didn't need laws back then. We do need them now.
• You didn't have a space program until 1958 so you didn't need any laws for it.
• We didn't need laws for Genetically modified foods, because there weren't any. Or at least none that weren't produced by more natural hybridization or grafting techniques.

Seriously, your being disingenuous if you think we can run the country with the same regulations we had the first 150 years.

I'm not saying there isn't room to cut regs, and to simplify them. But it's not going to make a difference in competition with foreign countries like China. You could eliminate every reg and every tax and the wage differential with China is still so high, that they would continue to destroy our industries if we don't wise up and restore the trade import tariffs.

Not only would it not make us competitive, but frankly, we don't want to deregulate entirely and China's pollution problem is a classic example of why not. On the other hand, we don't want to let China destroy our industries or dictate our wages either. Hence we need to raise import tariffs.
