Here's a link that will introduce you to the "juice fast" diet:

http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/

I've dropped 13 pounds over the past 5 days with absolutely *zero* exercise and very little hunger. You don't necessarily have to have a juicer to do this, you can use a blender and then strain the blended fruit and veggies through cheese cloth to get the juice.

What totally amazes me is that, even though I've not eaten solid food for going-on-six days, I've not been hungry (except when it's time to drink juice, of course) or weak.

Your cost of fruit and veggies will cost you between $120 and $150 per week, but of course you can deduct what your food costs have been.

Well, I’m past due to give you all an update. It’s getting harder for me to type so I’ve tried to get through this several times and have to put it aside and try again after the pain goes down enough to use my hands again.

The prayer at the church was very nice. Hands on, loud prayer, I heard one person speaking in tongues and another (I could have done without this) kept jerking me/pushing me back and forth. That was hard on me and I almost cried from the pain it was causing. They took me for brunch after the prayer and it was nice having the companionship of other believers. I sure found out how much the pain comes on like gangbusters if I am in this chair for too long. At least at home I can transfer out of it...but I couldn’t while I was away from the house.

My home health therapist is very nice and tries to be gentle. Some of the moves she forces my hands to make are more than I can take. I definitely have the tears come on like gangbusters. She does a form of traction on my neck. She tried to get me a traction unit for use at home, but my insurance won’t cover it. She said the best would be the traction unit that is used while you lay down, but that one costs about $300 from a medical supply store. I showed her the link for the over the door unit mentioned in post 500 and she said that one would help if I couldn’t get the other, but still, my insurance won’t cover either one. She was upset that my insurance can deny me something that my providers say I need, but there is nothing she can do to change it.

I am impatiently waiting for the results of the ultrasound on my abdomen and the xrays on my hands. They said the doctor should have the results today. I can almost bet it will be a week before they let me know. I hate waiting.

Anyway...thank you all for the prayers.
God bless you all!
T
