Sounds like prayers are being answered. May God continue to bless you.
Did a judge have to overturn the ruling? I have a friend who had to get an attorney and I think you said you did at some point.
I did get an attorney, but this wasn’t a judge thing...it was just another doctor looking at the evidence and granting me my disability during the appeal. From what I am hearing, they are not going back to my last job, they are saying the disability is only since I fell and ended up in the wheelchair. What I think is really stupid is that they believe a person can work and function correctly while on high doses or narcotic pain relievers. I have been on those since I was diagnosed with sciatica which eventually destroyed my L5 disc. I don’t get it, but I guess I just have to have faith that this is what God wants for me and move on with the favorable decision.
I think with the way disability is being abused by so many, you are lucky to even have anything coming so you will get back pay for the year, minus what the attorney gets and be thankful. Now you will have an income and be able to do all those things you have wished for. I’m glad for you.

Very glad you got good news!
A relative of mine that, like you, deserves to receive disability was very surprised when she received her first check— it went back to when she had to stop working and not when she aggravated her injury after she was no longer working. She didn’t even get unemployment when she stopped working because she had to quit, but they did give her disability for that time period. I hope you get what you deserve and they find a way to relieve your pain.
Praise God!!!
Wonderful! Prayers continue.
So glad you got some response to your disability claim! I hope it doesn’t take too long for you to begin to get paid. You’ve suffered for a long time now!
God bless, Twin! ((((hugs))))
So nice to see you getting a break!! I know how difficult it can be, that the bureaucrats who make these decisions don’t understand just how long 4-6 months, much less two years can be to a disabled person. In retrospect you should have told them you are a drug addict. You’d have gotten help faster. Alas, help IS on the way, praise God!!!
Good news :) ...thanks for the wonderful update! I pray things will finally work out for you.
Are you hopeful about being able to get yourself and your son away from that abusive living situation?
With how little we will be getting in back pay, I’m not sure how that will work out...but I am hopeful that either we can get out, or the situation at the house will change with the ability to contribute to the expenses.
Thank you again for the prayers!
Praise GOD! WAHOOO!!!
You’re an adult and you know by this point in life what you can handle.
But just me, I can’t understand ... and I can’t imagine staying under the conditions you’ve described over the years regarding your landlord and his abuse.
Abuse is uncalled for, and especially given your medical problems and inability to defend yourself or even run.
And although you weren’t able to contribute money, you did perform chores for him that are worth payment - sometimes at his demand even knowing you weren’t able.
No compassion whatsoever!
Missed you on the thread ping.
I was with my son in S.D. and didn’t have Internet access.
Prayers are being answered. Keep taking the DE. It may cure everything that ails you.
Father God,
We thank you that You hear our prayers concerning Trussell. We stand in agreement that by Jesus’ stripes we were healed. May the life-giving blood of Jesus flow through Trussells body, healing her every affliction. We believe that all thing are possible with You.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
Well, on top of getting the good news that my disability was approved, now I get bad news that my medicaid insurance is cancelled until I get an application submitted for medicaid for aged, blind or disabled. They can take up to 2 months (60 days) to approve or deny the application. I hurried to file and got that submitted today, but now...I’m without insurance. I had an appointment tomorrow to test my blood thickness because I’m on blood thinners due to the bloodclots I had. I’m due to pick up several prescriptions for my diabetes, thyroid, pain, nerve damage, blood thinners etc...and have no insurance to pick them up.
I’m in tears...my pain is already bad as we had a very bad trip to augusta yesterday where the driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove into the ditch and came bouncing out when he was jostled awake, and now...there’s no way to fill the scripts. Prayers DEFINITELY requested!!!!! Please pray that the department of social services are encouraged to be quick and get me approved immediately. I can’t go without my meds...and to answer what I’m sure will be suggested...I’ve already called the catholic charities, the salvation army, good samaratin, red cross and a few other charities that deal with the disabled...no one can help with my meds or the appointments I had scheduled that I have had to cancel. (they are still holding the spot for me if I can work it out...if any organization will step up to help).
Prayers, prayers and more prayers are requested. Please and THANK YOU...very much!
Perhaps someone can loan you the money and you can repay them as soon as your check comes in.
How can they cancel your medicaid without prior notice? Unbelievable!
What?! They’ve approved your disability, but they go and cancel your Medicaid? That makes no sense, the fact that there wouldn’t be a provision for the gap. Did they say why?
