I say we use the same drugs they use on pets at the animal shelter!
The left LOVES those drugs!
There is no start time in the article. It could have taken five minutes to die, and he was pronounced ten minutes after the "last cough." Very misleading.
You use two stacked boats to make a box sort of like a magician uses to saw a person in half, with head/arms/legs sticking out. You cover the culprit in honey and force him to drink honey and milk until he is ready to burst then you put him in a swamp. The critters then take care of it over a few days. Whoever came up with that one must have been really ticked at the first guy who got this treatment.
Why such a quick death?
“I vote for hanging.”
If (for reasons highly unlikely) I committed some heinous crime and got the death penalty, I would want to be hanged so that my organs could be donated and I could at least have done something useful with my life.
Of course, perhaps that impulse to help is why I’ve never committed heinous crimes and almost certainly will not.
Of course, it is hard to horrify a multitude which views slaughter every night on TV or engages in it via video games. Without that, the deterrent falls victim to desensitization.
In the '50s, just the idea of a visit to ol' Sparky, or the gas chamber was enough to get many thinking. Not so any more.
I think this guy tried to avoid execution to be a donor, but he didn’t have anyone lined up to receive his organs so it was denied.
Opiates like hydromorphone and benzodiazapines like Versed (Midozolam) suppress the urge to breathe, “air hunger,” and anxiety. They don’t cause it. That’s why people who OD on those things go to sleep and don’t wake up. That’s why they are given to people who are dying and can’t breathe well, even if it does hasten death.
As the muscles in the throat relax, there may be snoring, gurgling, rasping or gasping noises. That doesn’t mean there is a conscious struggle to breathe.
A far nicer death than he gave that poor young mother-to-be.
Personally I loathe medical executions. Death should come from an instrument of death. If I ever had to face it, give me a firing squad.
This tradition of last meals is outrageous. Its bad enough that this murderer has sponged off the taxpayer since 1989. If you're gonn give a meal to someone, give it to someone who deserves it.
Jeeeze, we’re supposed to feel sorry for this asshole if he suffered any pain?
Liberals are terminally ‘effed up in the head.
Now a death sentence mostly means spending the rest of your life nice and safe in court until you die of old age.
The way around this is to just have the condemned overdose on whatever surgical anesthetic is in common use.
When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, peoples hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.
Ecclesiates 8:11
Or just fill up his chamber with carbon monoxide and he just goes to sleep forever. Quick, cheap and painless.
People have been offing themselves by this method for a long, long time now.
Lethal injection is pretty miserable as a form of execution. Likewise with poison gas.
By far the fastest and least painful is electrocution, as electricity conducts faster through the body than do pain signals, and burn out the the connections in the brain.
However, the most cost effective means are bullets. With clamped rifles holding either blanks or a live round, a quick and painless kill is a near certainty.
The disgusting thing is that taxpayers supported this murderer for 25 years. SHEESH! Just how many poor people could have had their “free” nobamacare really free for that amount (or any other lamebrained lib program funded)?
I don’t want anyone tortured to death. But I could care less that this execution caused this evil scumbag pain. It went wrong and there were problems. Should we try to avoid that? Yes. Does it mean we should stop it? No. Especially since this scumbag put the woman he murdered through a lot worse than this.
Regarding the contentious lethal injection McGuire was given, Avery wrote: 'There has been a lot of controversy regarding the drugs that are to be used in his execution, concern that he might feel terror, that he might suffer. 'As I recall the events preceding her death; forcing her from the car, attempting to rape her vaginally, sodomizing her, choking her, stabbing her, leaving her to bleed out: I know she suffered terror and pain.
'He is being treated far more humanely than he treated her.'
