Decisions are made for other people by those who are supposed to be knowledgeable of the wishes of the affected person.
But what parent knows what the wishes of the unborn child might be? A large assumption is being made here, that the child wishes to retire from the vicissitudes of life before ever being in a position to assess what those difficulties or challenges may be.
