David Cassidy, a former teen idol and star of the 1970s U.S. television series "The Partridge Family," was arrested in California on Friday night on suspicion of drunken driving his third such arrest since 2010.
Cassidy, 63, was stopped on a road near Los Angeles International Airport after making a right turn on a red light in violation of a posted sign, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release.
After smelling alcohol coming from Cassidy's vehicle, an officer gave him a field sobriety test that showed a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent, the patrol said. That level is more than twice the 0.08 legal limit for driving in California.
Cassidy was alone in the car, the patrol said.
Cassidy was charged in August with drunken driving in Schodack, N.Y., after initially being stopped for not dimming his headlights, authorities said at the time. He was arrested and convicted for drunken driving in Florida in 2010.
Wow! Stunning!
I haven’t read his autobiography. I guess what I meant was from the outside he seemed decent - he kids went to school with my friends’ kids.
I loved that bus. I was a little kid when “The Partridge Family” was on TV. I couldn’t wait for Friday night so I could watch.
Come to think of it, my kindergarten lunch box had the bus on it, LOL. The thermos was the family singing.
Yeah, I thought about that as I recognized her and I still think about it. Nobody bothered her so I’m sure she was happy about that. It’s amazing that more of them don’t end up being recluses like Elvis. BTW, Susan Dey does not need makeup.
He somewhat reminds me of Leif Garrett. Some heart-throb who got into drugs and booze and now looks like crap.
I'm a guy, so I don't really care about those dudes.
To be fair, Joyce DeWitt and Maureen McCormick got old, too.
Don't we all?
Doesn't ruin the fantasy too much if I remember them at their peak.
And as a late '70s teen, I had lots of TV women to drool over. (RIP Dana Plato) who was my age.
The Partridge Family was a studio musician group with Cassidy and Jones singing. None or the kids in the show were musicians and I read a long time ago Susan Dey was tone deaf.
Look on youtube for The Cowsills singing "I think I love you". There was one song both The Cowsills and The Partridge Family released but I can't remember which one it was. The Cowsills are still an active group minus deseased mother and death of two of the brothers.
Cowsills are an overlooked band in my opinion. Many of their songs still hold up well today.
If I’m not mistaken the sister in the group is the youngest person to be on a top ten hit even ahead of Michael Jackson.
Susan Cowsill was eight when "The Rain, The Park & Other Things" hit #2 on the Billboard Top 40.
Michael Jackson was eleven when "I Want You Back" hit #1 on the BillBoard Top 40.
One of her last jobs was being the manager at an Office Max outlet in Arizona. That's not what killed her though.
You would first suspect that working at Office Depot might be the cause of early death, true.
She may also have been suffering from an old repetitive tambourine injury.
This article is old. David Cassidy is dead.
David Cassidy is dead.
More common than what one might think.
Parents, please don't let your children play tambourine.
Just to polling places though. Deceased are only allowed to drive to polling places.
RIP David Cassidy. I remember when he had that long hair on the Partridge Family. I'm talking Linda Ronstadt hair.
If that hair was on a girl, I'd ask her on a date.
If the girl in the picture had flatter boobs she wouldnt have had so much carpal tunnel. Her forearms are strained from having to keep that Dolly Parton distance. This would have been prevented completely had she chosen the flute or the piano. ;)
Cassidy is planning on voting Biden, I hear.
Her left arm is in the way!
