We've had to get the kids in out of the snow riding their bicycles at -30.
Eleven below isn't so bad in these parts, but we're geared up for it, too.
I USED TO have fun in it ... coasting and all that, but now I'd rather sit by the fire with a cup of coffee and read FreeRepublic or watch the non-stop, all day long ... judge shows on TV
Never knew there was so much crap on daytime TV until this year.
This Texan spent 3 1/2 years in Williston, ND.
You people know cold—LOL!
I loved living there and have kept up with my friends there. We’re back home in TX now—and happy to be here.
I’ve heard about the boom and growth in Williston——I doubt I’ll ever return. I want to remember it as it was when we lived there all those years ago.
I’ve been dealing with a college fleet car 300 miles away in Grand Forks. Daughter let a roommate use it because her car wouldn’t start in the -15 -20 weather last week. The roommate left the headlights on - which ended up killing the battery. So purchase a new one over the phone yesterday, daughter has to go get it, a neighbor helped put it in. -24F in Grand Forks yesterday. The car cranks fine but all the start attempts must have fouled the plugs or something because it still won’t start. So it’s wait until the temps warm up to -5 today and try again.
The car doesn’t have an engine heater, but has always started. Goes to show how one little mistake in this cold weather can really disturb the equilibrium. I might have to make a trip up there before this is over...
