Since you have never seen it before, the real test and question is - Did you FEEL it - or only see it?
Y'see ... I don't want to be accused of being a democrat, so I used the word 'see' rather than 'feel' (or 'felt', in proper case)
But, I tell ya' ... I just came back in from getting the vehicles started and one was stubborn and I had to hook up the jumper cables ... and DAMN!
I feel cold.
Hmm. OK, I will admit under pressure to jump-starting my neighbor's truck yesterday. He was going out for a load of gravel for the driveways.
Temp's up to 24 in northern Idaho and we're looking for snow later this afternoon. The lake I live on is incredible at the moment - the snow was fine enough to blow away and it's total glass, reflecting the mountain behind. Saw a guy in an ATV having the time of his life out there. Hope he stays away from the ice fishermen at the north end.

Stay hydrated. In heat like that you can get into heat exhaustion very quickly. I’d recommend beer.

In Oslo, I think we’ve had only a couple days below freezing (barely). The dark used to bother me only light between 10a-2p. But I’ve gotten used to it. It helps to have bright lights/candles in the house and makes you really appreciate spring and summer. I’ve never lived above the Arctic Circle so I can’t speak to the month of total darkness and its actually warmer in some Northern parts than here in Oslo, been happening since 2007.
-22 here in Minneapolis Monday morning. Truck (parked outside) screamed and complained all the way to work, but got me there.
In the mid 1940s my family, as I do now, was living in rural Idaho. No phones, no radio announcements of cancelled school.
My older brother tells me (I was born in ‘47, and missed this) that if the thermometer was under 20 degrees below 0, Fahrenheit, the school bus did not run. Above -20 the kids made the 3/4 mile trek down Fern Creek Road to the bus stop on the main road.
