I heard on Fox & Friends this morning that Phil had been warned about making such comments when their show went on the air. If he agreed to such an arrangement, then he shouldn’t have spoken out so forcefully in the interview. All he had to do was say as a Christian he believes homosexuality to be a sin. I’m not feeling quite as outraged about A&E’s actions if this is the case.

He gave an honest answer to an honest question. Supposing that he had signed away his freedom of speech, without actually knowing, and using it as an excuse as to why being railroaded for enjoying the Constitutional protections of free speech might get you an interview if A&E ever needs to hire new help.

And if he did make such comments on the show, they would be edited out. What’s funny is A&E think they can control the Robertson’s behavior like they do they Republicans in congress. Call them racists and homophobes and they’ll toe the line. I get the distinct feeling that name calling will have little or no effect on Phil. He doesn’t care what other people think. He is a man of his convictions.

I pray that those convictions run deep in the rest of the family. It would be funny to see a revival started by some guys that make duck calls, bite heads off of snakes, and ask for blessings on their meals in Jesus’ name. I’m good with it!
