True submissiveness, of course, doesn't come into play until he makes a decision she disagrees with.

In other words, yes, he can take charge ( or at least let him think he is in charge ) so long as his decisions pass the wife test or else he would be in the dog house for a long long time.
Honestly ? do we really think ? that women would give up their power they have and relegate it back to men passively ? heck no. and it will never happen in their minds.

I had a state cop tell me that in most domestic abuse cases ? it was the woman who instigated it.
There was a study done not so long ago by the Feds for married wives to " just claim down " in spousal spats.
The big picture ?
Most women today are spoild brats who can't get their way if things don't go their way.
So what do they do ? accuse the man of abuse or rape, or some way to " Get back at him " .
