My peeves:
“Height” ends with a “T” sound...not “th”.
It is “Lightning” not “Lightening”.
“Asked” ends with a “D” sound. “Asks” ends with an “S” sound. Neither ends with a “K” sound. I am not talking about the “axe” mispronunciation. That is another topic.
“Noone” is not the contraction for no one. There is no contraction for “no one”.
There is no “d” when you spell “refrigerator”.
Please do not pronounce “ancient” with a “k” sound in the middle.
Opportunity, not oppurtunity.
Sherbet is not pronounced Sherbert.
Told is not pronounced Toad.
Realtor pronounced real-a-tor.
Nuclear pronounced nu-ku-ler.
And, remember, a preposition is something you should never end a sentence with.
“Noone is not the contraction for no one. There is no contraction for no one.
Did you mean to say there is none?
Sherbet is not pronounced Sherbert.
Mrs. dweller hates those. I say them once in awhile to needle her!
