The only benefit I can see to Hawaii being part of the US is as a military base.Would our worldwide...or Asia/Pacific...defense posture be hurt to any noteworthy degree if we couldn't station forces in Hawaii? If the answer is "yes" then I hope they remain a state.If it's "no" then Hawaii becomes a huge overall liability IMO and I'd say "see ya" to them.

Of course I have basically the same attitude toward every other "blue" state in the nation.

Agree. ...Let HI leave the US as a State, but keep them as a Territory like Guam, and continue to maintain our military bases in both places.

Also, considering how many HI residents are drawing welfare benefits and unemployment, wouldn’t it save a lot of US taxpayers’ dollars to make them a Territory vice State?
