A big Beatles fan here and did not know that about “Bird”.
I assume the bird was Marianne Faithful who certainly could sing!
As an aside, I have CDRs of all of their EMI albums made direct from the studio master tapes along with some unreleased studio demos. Perhaps my fav “gift: is the 25 year remastering of “Pepper” that came direct from Geoff Emerick when he was in NYC for the remastering. Alas, it was never released.
And Your Bird Can Sing was a send up of Jagger by John Lennon.It’s a great song...one of their very best...but it still remains that Jagger’s bird *could* sing and she was drop dead gorgeous...unlike you-know-who!
Marianne Faithful?
She was the object of the Hollies song “Carrie Ann” but when the writer (I forget which “holly” it was) heard she was dating Jagger, he renamed the girl in the song.
