Fascists Want Tyranny More Than We Want Liberty

The recent uber-goofy initiative by our Choomer-in-Chief to encourage Thanksgiving-dinner discussions promoting Obamacare was a revealing moment, and what it mostly revealed is that fascists want tyranny much more that we want liberty. Think about it: the life purpose for a fascist, in fact it is the air they breath and the nutrients they consume, is to expand their control over others. They politicize everything because that is their reason for existence.

Some for putatively beneficent reasons, even. But as CS Lewis remarked;

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

We on the other hand mostly want to be left alone to live our lives in freedom, peace and prosperity.

And that is why the Fascist Left has been in ascendancy for a century, with no end in sight. They see every iteration of human life as an opportunity to expand their obnoxious malignancy and paternalism, while we insist on being polite. In fact, every aspect of advancing the Fascist Left agenda is based on their ill-manners, knowing full well that we will not oppose them consistently and proportionally because to do so would “cause a fuss.” They are counting on us acting like George W. Bush and Rush Limbaugh refusing to “stoop to their level by responding to every ridiculous charge.” Yes indeed, our good manners are what they are counting on.

In the public arena of so-called partisan politics, the Fascist Left advances on every front every day in every way, slowly metastasizing inside of every human institution, while Republicans and some conservatives insist, “We must choose our fights.” That is the mantra of a cadre that does not care to win, because all the fights you choose not to fight, you are choosing to lose. When you automatically cede victory to your opponent in a majority of the conflicts, you automatically cede victory in the long run, period.

That is why the Fascist Left is winning and will continue to win – they want to fight and win each and every conflict -- and in the aggregate, we don’t. We would rather be nice.

I agree they are playing an all or nothing game in this administration. They cannot afford to build this all powerful Fedgov and then turn the reins over to the GOP. Like the filibuster they did away with would have allowed Bush to put Gonzalez on the Supreme Court. No they have passed he point of no return and plan to rule indefinitely one way or the other. The fact that the people are catching on is a dark omen as it would force the socialists to do something drastic. The cake is baked.

There is a Rubicon they will one day cross, and rue the day they did.

Matt

Saw “Coup” as soon as it posted. Many thanks for also putting that into words. AS my ex-Army intel brother said when reading my copy of your trilogy, “there is nothing here that I can see as beyond the desire of the establishment.”

To quote an old communist, at the moment I cannot recall if it was Brecht or Orwell,

“You cannot hide from war. It will come and find you.”

All of the conversations I had with my In-Laws and outlaws all revolved around what we can do to actively resist the crushing onslaught of Socialism.

I guess we’re a weird couple of Clans...

I’m good with that.

They’ve crossed it, built a bridge, and put in a toll road.

But nobody knows what little stream will turn out to be that Rubicon.

That means we expect to be able to find some valid-for-both-sides compromise.

We can no more compromise with those currently running our government than we can compromise with a malignant brain tumor.

You are exactly right. The Progressive Left often succeeds by using the virtues of its victims against them. They make us “live up to (our) own book of rules”, as Saul Alinsky put it, while living themselves for nothing but power and control.
