My wife and I do some marriage counseling. More like, marriage preparation than counseling. But our job is to explain what a "Normal" and "Happy" marriage is and what it is not. Newlyweds are often surprised that we tell them to expect.
How many "families" do you know that have reoccurring family train wrecks and disasters that seemingly no one ever sees coming (AGAIN)?.... Really, you can't imagine how your daughter was arrested with her drug dealing boyfriend in an undercover sting after you have caught her with drugs on three occasions, she dropped out of high school, is somehow wearing expensive clothes and jewelry all the time despite not having a job and is also 6 months pregnant? You never guessed something like this could happen, huh?
