The whole tank scene was hard for me. First of all tanks require a lot of maintenance and wouldn’t stay running long without spares.

When I got an (very abbreviated) AIT at Knox, for tanker roles, the first thing the instructor told us all is that the tank is the only vehicle in the world that continuously breaks, more and more, while it is just sitting there unused. LOL

My cousin was a tank mechanic and said it was the most secure job in the military. It has translated over to working on heavy equipment in civilian life though.
